Weleda 2014 promotions on Face/Body Care

Weleda have some special promotions running right now where you can save some $$$.

Out of these I was sent the Weleda Almond Soothing Cleansing Lotion & Almond Soothing Facial Cream Pack. Which I apologise for not getting this up sooner so you could all take advantage of the deal they had on this pack in February but I wanted to be able to give you a proper review of the product that allowed me to be able to have time to test it out.


Weleda Almond Soothing Facial Cream smells like nougat to me which I love nougat so that was a plus! It was very easily rubbed into the skin and was non greasy.
It leaves your skin ultra smooth and just so caring to your skin, leaving it soft and subtle. 

I have suffered from dry skin basically all my life and always need to make sure that I have something on hand to use when I start to get dry - luckily my face isn't as bad as other parts on my body but it in the hotter weather I will need to do a top up on my face in the early afternoon to keep my skin going so this was a great little baby that got me through the day.

When using this I would use as my moisturiser underneath my makeup and then moisturise again after taking off my makeup before bed. In the mornings before makeup when applying the Weleda Almond Smooth Facial Cream I did wait a little bit to start putting on the foundation to allow the lotion to sit into my skin as it did feel quite thick and wet on my skin. 


Weleda Almond Soothing Cleansing Lotion was the same smell as the facial cream - the nougat scent. 
You immediately feel the benefits of how soft and luxurious this feels on your skin on first application into the skin. I was actually using this on my hands as well because I loved how soft it made my face and neck. 
It's a nice and very creamy texture compared to other cleansing lotions I have used which I really liked.

REVIEW: ELES Mineral Powder Foundation & Brow Blender Pencil


Everyone knows the love I have for ELES cosmetics - it's no lie! Every time I try something else in their range, the love I have grow's more and more. 
This time around I had the honour of reviewing the ELES Mineral Powder Foundation & ELES Brow Blender Pencil, read below to see my thoughts on them.

**RRP - $64.25**


This is the first powder foundation I have used - I've always been a liquid foundation and always thought of powder as being just used for finishing or for bronzing etc never for a complete cover up.

Something I loved about this was that it feels like you have nothing on it's a complete naked feel and you really can't tell you have anything on there. It wont leave those nasty foundation marks on your clothes or the person who you give a hug too! I'm a repeat offender of getting it on Dan & Niahbella's clothing from cuddling them which is a pain! 
I honestly forget that I have any make-up on with ELES Mineral Powder Foundation.



Having powder foundation gives you the option to how much you can have on your face - being a lightweight powder it will easily adjust from sheer to rich, more opaque coverages.
Another new thing for me was using a sponge to put my makeup on - I've only ever used my fingers and as of lately started trying the use of brushes with my foundation. I quite like using a brush or sponge rather then my fingers because it constantly gets under my nails no matter how short I cut them down!
I also find using a sponge just looks like you've used your fingers as well because brushes can leave streaking marks within the applied foundation.



The packaging is very oh la la! as I said regarding ELES packaging for their bronzer as it's the same.
Something that always stands out with ELES is there packaging to me - it's an eye catcher and I love the silver compacts!



ELES Mineral Powder Foundation is available in 10 different shades. I used Tender 05 on my skin and I think it's an almost perfect match!

There is this distinct smell from the powder foundation which it's a bit off putting when you're putting it on your face but it doesn't linger upon being on your face which is a good thing. 

My favourite thing about this product though was not having to use concealer underneath it for my red spots on my face. It completely covered it on it's own!

Now I'm just getting into doing my eyebrows and used to do the whole bare haired eyebrows so I used blond as I was very scared about how my brows would turn out whilst I am starting out and trying to perfect the gorgeous eyebrows. ELES Brow Blender Pencil is available in 3 shades - Blonde, Soft Taupe & Dark Taupe.

I love that the pencil has the built-in brow brush put onto the end of the pencil so you only need that one thing to do your eyebrows - less room taken up in the makeup case when they compact beauty products like this I say. 

Whilst I am still getting used to doing my eyebrows and actually seeing some decent brows on my face ELES Brow Blender Pencil has been an easy use. It wipes off easily when you make mistakes.
Below is my play around at using the ELES Brow Blender Pencil - at the top is my normal eyebrows and bottom 2 images are with the pencil Blonde in. I probably do need to go up a shade in the brow pencil as I think my eyebrows stood out a little more with the 2 shades of having a light pencil with my dark eyebrow hair.

My tip for using the ELES Brow Blender Pencil is to draw on a vertical line where you want to start the pencil in the eyebrows then draw on as if you were using a pen to write until you get to the arch in your eyebrow, once at the arch turn the pencil onto its side and lightly go downwards to the end of your eyebrow.

And honestly if I was to pick 1 mascara to have a life time supply of I would 100% say Rimmel London's ScandalEyes Rockin' Curves Mascara!
I have never been more happier with a product. The product goes on easily without clumps.

The best way to use this mascara is to roll up on your eyelashes to get maximum effect and make sure you wiggle both ways by using the wand applicator both ways - horizon and diagonally onto your lashes. 
With the more strokes you do the thicker and fuller effect you will get.

The packing is a ‘80s rock-inspired with a textured animal print (snake skin) pattern for maximum stand-out. 
There is so many animal print lovers out there along with myself so this definitely would catch my eye in the stores!
Along with the use of the predominant colors red & black!

The wand applicator was definitely different to other mascaras so I was a bit weirded out by it at first but after using this I couldn't ever go back to the straight wands again with seeing the amazing changes within my lashes with this mascara. 

Rimmel London ScandalEyes Rockin' Curves mascara has found it's new home in my daily makeup case and wears really well throughout the day - staying strong and looking just as good as it did when first applied!

HOT TIP for mascara use: For sanitary reasons only yourself should use the wand applicator, if you intend to share be sure to use disposable wands for all other users.

The Kidstore - Autumn 2014 Range + in-store sale haul

As the weather simmers down to welcome cooler days and chilly nights, The Kidstore launches their 2014 autumn collection.

Designed for kids in Australia, but drawn from diverse international inspirations, the new season takes you from old school varsity styling to American grunge, mixing stars and stripes, leopard print, metallic and monster based graphics.

Denim is key for the season and features heavily throughout the range along with other wearable autumn fabrications including cosy knits, fashionable fleece and fun embellishments.

Each individually designed piece in the collection can be layered and mixed together to create individual looks, allowing kids to use their imaginations to create their own unique style.

The new season collection is available in-store now with sizes range from newborn to 12 years. RRPs range from $15 - $60.

We couldn't go past the beanie with the ears for miss Niah so we came home with it - I can't wait till this chilly weather comes on so she can wear it out! (Her little pomp pomp like ears are a little bit floppy at the moment - she's got some head space to grow into haha)


Whilst there we did a little bit of a haul on the sale items they were clearing out and picked up some MASSIVE bargains:

I also have to admit that the Fuchsia coat isn't going to fit Miss Niahbella unfortunately - it's a size 0-3 months but I loved it soooo much that I had to buy it. Dan was telling me to put it back in the shop as we didn't need it but I just had to have it, I convinced him with the 'I'm saving it for the next baby!! haha'.

Ryan Reynolds - Signs as new Face of L'Oreal Paris Men Expert

The 37-year old Canadian actor and producer Ryan Reynolds officially started his movie career at the age of 14 when he obtained his first role in the Nickelodeon
series Fifteen (1990-91). He then appeared in several TV series including The Odyssey (1992), The Outer Limits (1995 and 1998) and The X-Files (1996). But Ryan is probably best-known for starring in Anne Fletcher’s romantic comedy The Proposal (2009), alongside Sandra Bullock, which was at the top of US box office immediately after its release, Gavin Hood’s X-Men Origins: Wolverine (2009), Rodrigo Cortés’ Buried (2010) or Daniel Espinosa’s action- thriller co-starring Denzel Washington Safe House (2012).

In 2014, Ryan will star in Atom Egoyan’s The Captive, Marjane Satrapi’s The Voices, and he will soon begin filming Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck’s Mississippi Grind.
He is now joining the L’Oréal Paris family, alongside Hugh Laurie, Jennifer Lopez, Julianne Moore, Jane Fonda, Eva Longoria, and Blake Lively.

LUSH bans the use of plastic water bottles


Cosmetics retailer LUSH bans the use of plastic water bottles

-      National campaign to reduce unnecessary plastic consumption  -


Each year 8 billion bottles and cans are thrown into landfill or littered in Australia.* This alarming statistic is one that high street retailer, LUSH Cosmetics hopes to challenge next week as it launches a national campaign encouraging Australians to recycle and refill their water bottles instead of purchasing more unnecessary plastic. From the 17th until the 23rd of February 2014 LUSH is partnering with environmental conservationist group, TAKE 3 to raise awareness about the impact plastic has on the environment, our health and wildlife.

Australians spend over half a billion dollars on bottled water every year. Not only is bottled water on average 2000 times the price of regular tap water,* it is also a large contributor  to environmental damage globally. By choosing tap water over bottled water, people are choosing to care for oceans and wildlife, as well as their own personal health and the right to water without paying excessive amounts for it.


From the 17th February 2014, single-use plastic bottles will not be used by any staff member in LUSH’s 26 Australian retail stores, as well as the LUSH kitchen and head office.

LUSH will also be turning its stores into official refill stations, encouraging people to refill their water bottles for free as opposed to purchasing more unnecessary plastic.

Customers will be able to purchase a limited edition campaign drink bottle (RRP $15.95) with all profits donated to TAKE 3.


Throughout the campaign, LUSH’s eight flagship store windows will display 266 plastic water bottles in fishing nets, representing the amount of bottles and cans littered or thrown into landfill each second in Australia. LUSH staff will be educating customers in-store and encouraging them to take three simple steps of action to help reduce unnecessary plastic consumption.



1.    Refill – Purchase a reusable drink bottle and refill it in any LUSH store.

2.    Take 3 – Anywhere people go, they can take 3 pieces of litter away and dispose of it thoughtfully.

3.    Sign – Sign a petition asking for a 10 cent refund on beverage containers to reduce litter and double recycling rates across Australia.

Tim Silverwood, co-founder of TAKE 3 says,

Refilling your reusable water bottle is a simple action that will help save the planet, our oceans and save you money!”

“At LUSH we believe in not using excess packaging. Single-use plastic makes up a huge percentage of waste that makes its way into our oceans, so we have decided to be part of the solution. While we are running this campaign with Take 3 in our shop windows for one week, we are committed to making a longer lasting difference. We have banned the use of plastic beverage containers throughout our business and have turned our stores into permanent refill stations to encourage our customers to refill their reusable drink bottles.”
